There are some incredible places to camp along the Rainbow Coast. From the beaches to the forests to the wilderness, you'll find the perfect camping spot for your holidays.

We have provided as much information as possible but we recommend contacting the people responsible for each individual campground for current availability, rules and rates.

The beautiful south coast of Western Australia offers many opportunities to camp in amazing natural surroundings.
If you've been to Denmark, you'll know how stunningly beautiful the area is. There are several camping locations close to Denmark including:
Parry Beach WA - 21 kms west of Denmark.

This large campsite with separate bays is simply wonderful.
Only a short distance from the beach and under the shade of peppermint trees make this a tranquil location. The road through the campsite is excellent.
There are no shops, the nearest town is Denmark 21km away. You cannot make a booking, you neet to turn up to get a place. It is busy during main school holidays.

Parry Beach, Denmark
There are many campgrounds within the Albany Region of Western Australia. Though they are all in the Albany City and surrounds, many of them are also close to Denmark like Torbay, Cosy Corner and Shelley Beach at West Cape Howe which are less then 40km from Denmark Town.
Torbay Inlet offers camping at Flood Gates. 28km west of Albany via the Lower Denmark Road, Perkins Beach Rd, and Torbay Inlet Rd. (4WD recommended). Free camping.
This is a very small camping area in a peaceful location. Torbay Inlet is surrounded by coastal scrub.

30 km west of Albany via Lower Denmark Rd, turn south on Cosy Corner Rd. Turn right on Coombes Rd, turn left on Shelley Beach Road and follow the signs. Entry and Camping Fees Apply.
Shelley Beach bush is a small natural coastal campsite with limited space. This area is spectacularly beautiful with a white pristine sandy beach and walking trails all around. The Shelley Beach lookout is a popular launch pad for hang-gliding and para-gliding.

30 km west of Albany (half way between Albany and Denmark off the Lower Denmark Road. Turn onto Cosy Corner Rd, follow the signs. Free camping.
This secluded camping area next to the beach has 10 sites set around the trees. There are picnic benches and there is a shady grassed area.

Manypeaks. Free camping
This campsite has two camping areas. Follow the signs. It is also possible to camp on the beach past the rocks that divide the beach and cove area. Durning the professional salmon fishing season from mid-February to the end of April campers are not encouraged. Tel: City of Albany
49 km east of Albany at Manypeaks, reached via the South Coast Hwy, Homestead Rd and Norman's Beach Rd. Free camping.

This foreshore camp ground provides a secluded beach setting surrounded by coastal scrub.
This secluded camping area is 52 km north-east of Albany on Two People Bay. Fish and swim on a beautiful section of coastline or simply relax and take in the magnificent views. On East Bay Rd, the site is off Bettys Beach Rd via Homestead Rd off the South Coast Hwy. The basic facilities suit self-sufficient campers.

Off Cheyne Beach Rd, 60 km east of Albany, Waychinicup Inlet has 9 tent sites, some walk-in only.
The facilities are basic (you need to bring drinking water and a gas/fuel stove) but the coastal location is picturesque.

There are many campgrounds near Walpole and surrounds including some of the most beautiful and remote campsites along the south coast.
Situated in the Walpole-Nornalup National Park a little more than ten kilometres west of Walpole at the turning for Mandalay Beach. 500m off the highway
Fees apply $10.00 per night
Marked camp sites.
There are two other campgrounds in this area which are accessible only by 4WD: Banksia Beach (4 kms of 4WD only), Long Point (9 kms of 4WD only).

Situated in National Park on the Deep River, 20km west of Walpole on South Western Highway. On Centre Rd, 5 km east of the South Western Hwy, this small camping area is on the western side of Deep River.
Take the signposted turn-off 20 km north-west of Walpole. Surrounded by dense forest, the basic camping facilities include a shelter hut, along with limited tent sites.
A 3-night maximum stay applies.
Situated 36 km north-west of Walpole on Beardmore Road, turn off South Western Highway.
Located on Beardmore Road (36kms NW of Walpole), Fernhook Falls are part of the Deep River with spectacular falls in winter. This area is also a popular swimming and picnic spot in summer. Below the falls, at the river edge, are board walks and a stairway into the river affords a safe canoe launch during the white water season of July to October. Camping facilities are also available. Two shelters, camping sites, water and barbecue facilities are provided for a fee.
Explore the falls area or take a canoe trip on the pristine Deep River. The camping area is 6 km east of the South Western Hwy, with signposted access along Beardmore Rd, 35 km north-west of Walpole. Shelter huts are available.
Fernhook Falls is a small, secluded camping area in the forest. With limited sites for off-road camper trailers, you can stay here to explore the falls area or take a canoe trip on the pristine Deep River. The camping area is 6 km east of the South Western Hwy, with signposted access along Beardmore Rd, 35 km north-west of Walpole. Shelter huts are available and you need to bring your own drinking water.
